Christmas!

Christmas was great this year! Lots of family time and too much food. . . It was Addelynn's first Christmas and I think it's obvious (pic below) that she enjoyed it!

All the events and services for "A Global Christmas" at The Bride was also a success this year. . . It was definitely the most we've ever put in to a Christmas series. Christ was glorified! Can't wait for next year!

New Song - Turn Your Eyes

So last night I was laying in bed, not sleeping, and my brain wouldn't stop thinking about how I liked these words and how they would go great with the old hymn "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus". . . so I ended up getting out my phone and jotting down this entire song. Today, I showed it to Josh after our weekly planning meeting at The Bridge, and we decided to record it real fast on my iPhone so we could remember it. So. . . now I'm posting it on here for you to check it out!

This was literally the first time through. . . so it's definitely rough!

Here's the link, it's m4a so you'll have to download it to listen. . .

Words

VERSE
When you're Broken down and reaching out for something
That no matter what you just can't seem to find
And you're stuck inside this shell of hopeless living
Just open up your eyes and see the light.....

PRE
He can overcome
The battles already won

CHORUS
Turn your eyes to heaven
His grace will enter in and set you free
Turn your eyes to heaven

My God has made a way for you and me

VERSE
When Everything around you seems uncertain
And victory seems too far gone to try
The power of His love will come to find you
And shake the broken soul that lives inside

BRIDGE
When everything is torn apart
He will provide a brand new start
and come come and rescue me

Spring Windermere 2010

Last weekend we played the Spring LCMS at Camp Windermere. . . I must say it's always a great time! Leading over 500 middle-school age kids in worship is always adventurous. We were able to get some great pictures and video from it. Here are some of the pictures, hope to edit some video and get it up soon as well!

Lyrics

In case you're wondering, here are the rest of the words to "Let It Out Now"

Verse 1
He is here and He’s calling us out
To follow on this path He’s laid out
So let’s go….. Go and tell the World

Pre-Chorus
There is none that compares to you
So we give all the praise to you

Verse 2
We’re here to sing of his glory and fame
And to live out this life with no shame
So let’s go….. Go and show the World

Chorus
Let it out now, that God has risen
Let it out now, that we are free
Let it out now, that he’s victorious
Let it out now, he’s our Savior and our King

Bridge
There is none that compares to You
So we're giving our hearts to You

If you'd like a PDF of the music, leave a comment and I'll send it to you!

Album Of The Week

I've been listening to a lot of good new(ish) music lately. . . one of my favorite albums this week is "Life Light Up" by Christy Nockels. There are some great songs on this album filled with powerful lyrics and amazingly clever musicianship. Being married to Nathan Nockels must be pretty convenient! I'd say we'll probably be doing some of these songs at The Bridge soon.

You can check it out via iTunes.

One of my amps, Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, has acquired a hum so we replaced a few capacitors and... Success! No more hum!

New Blog

Love and Life

Once again, I fail to post on a regular basis. So let's sum it up in one big post!

Number 1
- We recently found that that my wife is pregnant! We had our first official doctor visit today. . . she's about 8 weeks along. Here is a (crappy iPhone) pic of the ultrasound. It's our little bean baby!

Number 2 - I built a new stage set at The Bridge. I'm rather proud of this one. . . it's my first experience with building a decent looking set. It's amazing what you can do with some Wood, Screen Wire, Tulle and Filter Paper. . . This is a pic from worship.

Number 3 - Lately, I've really began to look around me and realize that God has placed some amazing people around me... my wife, family, friends, church. All of these people are amazing and they've all played a big role in who I am and where I'm at today. Hopefully I can manage to pay back the favors of Love and Kindness that they've all shown me and continue to do so. . .

Anyways. . . enough rambling for one night. I think I will try to start blogging more. . . we'll see how that goes.

Sunday, January 10, 2010

We'll be celebrating 4 years in existence at The Bridge with a worship concert. We'll be recording a Live Worship Album and DVD on this night. . . Should be a good time!
